Submitted by Dave Won. on Tue, 07/03/2012 There are more legal woes coming for Google this time the ASUS Nexus 7 tablets. Nokia has identified Patents in regard to IEEE 802.11 WiFi standard technology that it says neither Google nor ASUS the manufacturers of the new tablet have licensed. "Nokia has more than 40 licensees, mainly for its standards essential patent portfolio, including most of the mobile device manufacturers. Neither Google nor Asus is licensed under our patent portfolio. (1) "Companies who are not yet licensed under our standard essential patents should simply approach us and sign up for a license." (1) So I think given the scope of the case, it would be in the company’s involved to get the money off the back before it is too late. This could very well be the tablet that could kill the iPad off as the most popular tablet, due to the sheer power that the Nexus 7 has with its Quad core 1.3Ghz Tegra 3 CPU and 1 GB of RAM… and the price is hard to beat too, starting at just $199. The Nexus 7 is going to be available for purchase around mid July, and will feature the elusive Android Jellybean 4.1 OS. Source: The Inquirer (http://s.tt/1gBpJ)
