Introduction

GreatCall is a no contract phone provider that was started in 2006 in California. The phone service runs off the Verizon CDMA network. Greatcall offers just two phones currently.

They have their own line of Samsung phones called the Jitterbug, which are basically designed for simplicity and basic functionality for people that want and easy to use phone that is going to be there when they need it, the other phone is the Samsung R100 which is nice little phone.

These phones are very simple because the companies focus is on the older generation, people that find new technologies hard to use, which is a great concept as there is a huge need for this.

Unique feature: GreatCall has a bunch of services that are aimed 24 hour help services for security/Medical and more. (explained below)

GreatCall prides itself with quick response times to technical issues, and has an All American call center.

GreatCall would be a great gift for senior family member or friend, to give them an extra feeling of security.

Provides customers with the feeling of safety and security wherever they are, because with 5Star GreatCall customers can use their cell phone to connect to a 24/7 staff of certified emergency response agents who can dispatch appropriate help, such as police, EMT’s or even a tow truck. 5Star uses the latest GPS technology available to accurately pinpoint a user’s location, and customers can also set up a Personal Profile, which includes their medications, emergency contacts, and other information that assists the 5Star agents in providing fast and appropriate aid.

Wellness Calls:
This program was created with world-renowned wellness expert Dr. Brian Alman. It offers users a series of once-a-week calls that provide thoughtful questions and information for relaxing, motivating and overall well-being.
LiveNurse:
Award-winning service offers unlimited 24/7 access to live, registered nurses for medical advice and support wherever and whenever it’s needed. The nurses can also connect users to an updated health library featuring current information on hundreds of general health-related topics.
Medication Reminders:
Award-winning service allows customers to easily follow medication schedules exactly as prescribed by their doctor, track adherence to that schedule and get prescription refill reminders. Users can program up to 16 reminders per day and by simply logging into their MyGreatCall.com account, users can see a chart of adherence by each medication.
 
Daily Health Tips:
As part of GreatCall’s support of the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women® movement, customers can choose to receive one helpful health tip a day for a full year, delivered to the phone by text message.
