BlackBerry Curve 8530 review

Submitted by Mike on Fri, 08/05/2011
The BlackBerry Curve 8330 is not a bad phone for the price, it pretty much has everything that you need from a smart phone. The Trackpad is easy to use I find it works very well compared to the previous trackball BlackBerry devices. It is pretty much everything you would expect from a Blackberry in the past few years, and if you don’t have unlimited data on your prepaid plan you can always use Wifi. The Camera is ok, but lacks a flash which on all accounts is strange for a newer phone. The Battery needs to be put on charge most days even with light use. The 3G internet on unlimited is slowish and drops out at time when there is full signal.

So we unboxed the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer, not a bad little Tablet Computer for the price US$398 This model features super fast Android 3.0 operating system. There is an optional docking keyboard that creates a laptop computer out of the tablet which we will review in a few days here. As you can see in the video this is an amazing machine for almost any application. The machine also works well with games like Angry birds. Check the video for more hands on experience.

LG Optimus GT540 Review

Submitted by Dave Won on Thu, 06/30/2011
The LG Optimus, is a strong feeling phone and a tad different to other Android Smart phones, this mainly due to the fact it has such a stylish shape. One other thing that stands out is when the phone is in your hands even without the battery inserted you can feel this has extra weight. This may be because of strong components crammed inside. The name Optimus automatically make you think of Transformers (Optimus Prime) and you have to wonder if that was a factor that inspired this phone.

Samsung Galaxy 5 i5500 review

This Samsung phone I was excited about reviewing, but after I had the phone in my hand I was shocked by how bad this phone really is. Firstly the loading time on the phone was crazy, I was expecting to be around the same speed as other Androids of this price range, but this phone fails miserably. Once the phone is loaded it had the interface that has become familiar with all versions of Android OS. Using the touch screen is a nightmare, it doesn't respond well at all to input, and the hardware keys that are below the touch screen are awful and stiff.

Straight Talk LG 511C Review

Submitted by Eric Smith on Thu, 06/02/2011
The LG511C came out a few days ago on the Straight Talk website, this CDMA phone looks good. The phone features the proprietary LG OS much like that of the LG800G that came out earlier on Tracfone this year. So if you liked that phone then this one will be great too. The addition of a full QWERTY keyboard will no doubt be welcome. At $199 we find it hard to believe that it will sell like hot cakes. This phone is not 3G.
