Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Review

Submitted by Dave Won. on Mon, 01/09/2012
This is a pretty cool tablet that pretty much is everything you are looking for in a tablet for around the $400 mark and does everything the iPad does and more. So it is hard to know where to start with this device it's just such a cool device to have, and it really does look like an iPad, there is no denying that. It is just like a laptop but with great battery life, I know for some people it is hard to get away from using a mouse and keyboard and because of this you can buy keyboard docks for this tablet, and if you don’t want to fork out $70 for one of these you can always use a generic Bluetooth keyboard or mouse because there are still some websites that are a little hard to use on a tablet due to the fact that they are not designed for it. In fact, we have been working to make Wontek.com work a bit better on tablet devices seeing they are quickly taking over as devices for Internet usage. I don’t really want to crap on the specs too much as I know people really don’t give a crap they want to know if it is usable or not, and whether it is a quality product or not, and this is a classy product that does all that. It really doesn’t matter who you are when you use this thing, there are apps and other things that you will just love using on this tablet. The screen is really responsive, and has amazing battery life, something like a smart phone, but even with a heavy use you probably can get away with only charging the Galaxy 10.1 once every few days. Go out and have a look at a demo model at your local electronic store you will be pressed to find a reason not to get one for yourself... well done Samsung!

AT&T Fusion Review (Huawei U8652)

Submitted by Dave Won. on Tue, 12/27/2011
I must say this AT&T Fusion (also known as the Huawei U8652) is a very impressive phone for the price. Huawei is really doing a good job with keeping up with bigger Android phones at an affordable rate, and because this phone only really just came out I think we can expect to see a price in the next few months and this thing will go like a wild fire. This phone is very light even with the battery installed, but doesn’t appear to lack any features. This phone has a Qualcomm 600Mhz CPU which seems to do some pretty fast processing consisdering it is not the fastest CPU in the Smartphone world. The 3.2MP camera is ok, doesn’t really look like the photos are the best quality (view the attached photo below left). Check the video above for more of a look at this cool slim Android phone.

A phone service called Prepayd is out.

Submitted by Dave Won. on Tue, 12/13/2011
The latest prepaid MVNO company to join the competition is called ‘PrePayd’ the name being a spin on the misspelling of prepaid. The range of phones at ATM is very limited, but they have only just started so anything could happen from here. Prepayd service is using the Sprint network which is become vastly popular with prepaid of late. More information is on our Prepayd reviews page.

Straight Talk LG Optimus Q Review

Submitted by Dave Won. on Thu, 10/27/2011
The LG Optimus Q, Straight Talk’s second Android phone is on its way. If you're interested you can already pre-order the phone at Straight Talk reserve order page here: http://reserve.straighttalkandroid.com/. This is a great phone with the addition of a full QWERTY keyboard. The LG Optimus Q is not a new model, it came out last year. This phone should be better than the Samsung Galaxy Precedent, LG from my experience have always made better phones. So this LG Optimus Q should make the competition worry. It is however going to be on the Sprint Network so check coverage maps before you order.

Lenovo ideapad Y560 Review

Submitted by Dave Won. on Fri, 09/09/2011

Lenovo has made some great computers in its time and the Y560 is no exception, it has a sleek design that really looks the part.  The sound system and JBL speakers are just great.

I must say that after all the Lenovo software was uninstalled the laptop performed a lot better. The Core i7 CPU is great for getting stuff done quickly. After a few weeks of using the Y560 I find that the battery performance is not up to scratch with getting not much more than 2.5 hours from a charge.

Does Nokia have what it takes to comeback

Submitted by Mike on Mon, 08/29/2011
Nokia is well known for quality workmanship and support when it comes to cell phones but somehow during the SmartPhone boom around 2008 the Nokia phones were left at the shop. Ultimately because SmartPhones had become popular seemingly overnight with the likes of Apple and Android (on various hardware).  Instead of going with the trend Nokia kept doing what Nokia does, making quality Nokia phones. This was good and bad, but ultimately it was bad because Nokia persevered with making phones that were an old concept.
